Sammakka sarakka Medaram Jathara:
Samaka Saraka Jathara is one of the prominent festivals in
India Located at Medaram in Tadvai Mandal in Warangal district in Telangana
State. It
is believed that after Kumbha Mela, the Medaram jathara attracts the largest
number of devotees in the country.Sammakka Saralamma Jatara or Medaram Jatara is a tribal
celebration of regarding the goddesses celebrated in the condition of
Telangana, India.It recognizes the battle of a mother and little girl, Sammakka
and Saralamma, with the supreme rulers.
It is praised in Medaram amid the time the goddesses of the
tribals is accepted to visit them. Medaram is a remote spot in the Eturnagaram
Wildlife Sanctuary, and a portion of Dandakaranya, the biggest surviving
timberland belt in the Deccan.
There are numerous legends about the inexplicable forces of
sammakka . As indicated by a tribal story, around 6-7 centuries ago,that is in
the thirteenth century, some tribal pioneers who went for a chasing discovered
another conceived young lady (Sammakka) discharging tremendous light playing in
the midst of tigers. She was taken to their home. The leader of the tribe
embraced her and raised as a boss tain (She later turned into the friend in
need of the tribals of the locale) she was hitched to Pagididda Raju a
feudatory tribal head of Kakatiyas(who ruled the nation of Andhra from Warangal
City between 1000 AD and 1380 AD).She was honored with 2 little girls and one
child to be specific Sarakka, Nagulamma and Jampanna individually.
How To Get There
Temple
Timings : 1)
During Jatara Days temple is open 24 hrs round the clock 2) Any day of the
year(365 days), Non-Jatara days its 6am to 6pm
Accommodation:- Safe Forest Area, with good Blacktop Roads. In
Warangal City you can avail decent Hotel Accommodation.
Being
a forest/Tribal area Hotels / constructions are not permitted. Devotees either
stay under trees or bring Tents / camp tents to build their own accommodation around
the temple area.
Medaram is
Located about 90 KM from Warangal District . From Hyderabad it's about 180
KM.
Cooking
/ Food : Infront
of temple entrance you have several tiny shops where they cook for a nominal
charge, you need to provide them with the ingredients like Masalas / Chicken /
Mutton / tamotos etc.
Traveling by
Train : From Hyderabad to
Warangal you can take the train ( reservation should be done well in advance)
and From Warangal you can get number of buses to Medaram during Jatara
(festival) time.
Traveling
by Bus: first you need to
reach Warangal by any Bus and from there you can get number of buses to
Medaram during Jatara (festival) time.
